A woman in her late 40’s who was wearing a 38 DDD size bra which did not fully support her breasts. She had difficulty performing any type of aerobic exercise and had grooving of the shoulders from her bra straps, back pain, shoulder pain and rashes under the breasts in the warmer months. She is shown before and again, 4 ½ months after bilateral breast reduction with the removal of around 400 gms of tissue from each breast. She is thrilled with her new shape and size, and no longer has difficulty with exercise. She does not have the back and shoulder pain, and no longer gets rashes under her breasts. We can expect her scars to continue to fade and improve over the next 18 months.

A mother of 2 in her early 60s who is a triple D cup and is bothered by back pain, shoulder pain, difficulty exercising and rashes under her breasts in the summer months. She has a full figure and does not want to be too small, but wishes her breasts to be proportional to her frame but not so heavy as to cause symptoms. She is shown before and again, 10 months after breast reduction to a full C cup. Scars will continue to fade and improve for 2 years. She is already thrilled with her new shape and size, and her symptoms of back and shoulder pain have resolved. She is no longer troubled by rashes under her breast and is able to exercise without wearing multiple bras.

A nurse and mother of 2 in her early 40’s who is bothered by drooping and fullness of her breasts. She describes herself as s 38 D and has problems with back pain, shoulder pain, irritation of the shoulders from her bra strap and a rash under the breasts in the warmer months. She is shown before and again, 10 months after bilateral breast reduction. Scars were typically continue to fade and improve for 2 years after surgery. She is thrilled that her breasts are now smaller and more symmetric. They no longer are drooping (“ptosis”) and her symptoms of back and shoulder pain and irritation from the bra straps have gone away.

A woman in her mid 60’s with 44 DD cup breast who has problems with back pain and a rash under her breasts. She is shown before and again, 6 months after bilateral breast reduction, changing her to a full C cup, more in keeping with her frame. Her back pain and rash has resolved, and she loves her new look. The nipples were also moved closer to the median of her breast.

A woman in her early 40’s who is bothered by breast asymmetry and the size of her breasts. She is shown before and again, 1 year after bilateral breast reduction with the removal of more breast tissue from her left than her right to balance her breasts.

A mother of 3 in her early 50’s who is bothered by grooving and irritation of her shoulders, as well as neck, back and shoulder pain which is related to her 36DD bra size. She also has difficulty exercising despite wearing extra bras, and also gets a rash under her breasts in the summer. She is shown before and again, just 4 1/2 months after bilateral breast reduction with the removal of nearly 1 1/ 2 lbs of breast tissue from each breast. Scars typically will continue to fade and improve for 2 years after breast reduction. At 4 ½ months there is still some redness of her scars but she is already thrilled with her new shape and size. And her symptoms noted above have all resolved.

A mother of 2 in her later 40’s who is a 34-38 D cup and gets a rash on her back with exercise. She would like to be a C cup. She is shown before and again, 6 months after bilateral breast reduction with a superior pedicle technique. She had just under 300 gms removed from her right breast and just over 200 gms from her left breast to reduce her to a mid C cup. Scars will typically fade and improve for the first 2 years- hers have already started to fade nicely with topical silicone.

A 21 yo student who wore a 34 DDD bra and who had problems with neck pain, back pain, irritation and grooving of her shoulders as well as difficulty exercising due to the size of her breasts. She is shown before and again, 1 year after bilateral breast reduction with the removal of around 490 gms from each breast. ( one pound = 454 gms) An inverted ‘T” scar was used. She is 5’ 5 ½” and 165 lbs. Scars will typically continue to fade and improve for two years after surgery. She is thrilled with her new, proportional shape, and her symptoms have resolved.
