What is skin rejuvenation?
Skin rejuvenation in Boston and Worcester, Massachusetts is any treatment done to clarify and restore radiance to the skin. Dr. Hall offers IPL photofacial treatments, advanced chemical peels, and the DermaSound Elite Ultrasonic Facial.
What is a chemical peel?
Chemical peels are non-invasive treatments to improve and replenish the appearance of skin. During a peel, the topmost layer of the skin is removed, revealing a new, healthier layer of skin underneath. This is known as cell turnover, in which the body’s healing process produces elastin and collagen. Chemical peels also eliminate dead skin, clean out pores, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
What is IPL/Photofacial?
IPL or Intense Pulsed Light Photofacial uses a series of intense lights to rejuvenate the skin. IPL Photofacial can treat many skin conditions, including rosacea, sun damage, age spots, broken capillaries, and skin redness on the hands, chest, and face. Each treatment takes about an hour, and there is no downtime involved.
During an IPL Photofacial, gentle pulses of light will be administered over the treatment area, penetrating the skin and absorbing any imperfections. For optimal results, three to five treatments are recommended at four weeks apart. After treatment, patients will experience mild redness which should resolve within 24 hours. Blistering and bruising may also occur, but will clear within a couple weeks.
What is the DermaSound Elite Ultrasonic Facial?
The DermaSound Elite Ultrasonic Facial is a non-invasive treatment that uses low-frequency ultrasound waves in conjunction with water. This facial can treat a selection of skin conditions, including acne, rosacea, sensitive skin, aging skin, hyperpigmentation, dry skin, and wrinkles.
