Kybella

What is Kybella?

Kybella® in Boston and Worcester, Massachusetts is the only FDA-approved injectable that diminishes the appearance of fat below the chin, also called a double chin or described medically as submental fullness. Kybella is made up of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body, to destroy dietary fat cells. Learn more about the history of Kybella in Dr. Hall’s blog!

How does Kybella help fix a double chin?

Because Kybella is made up of deoxycholic acid, fat cells leading to excess fat under the chin are permanently destroyed, creating a slimmer appearance in the treatment area. For optimal results, two to four sessions of Kybella injections are required, spaced at least four weeks apart. Dr. Hall will create an individualized treatment plan based on the amount of correction desired for your unique concerns.

Who is a good candidate for Kybella Boston?

Anyone who is unhappy with the appearance of their chin profile who has excess chin fat is likely eligible for this non-invasive procedure to correct a double chin. Kybella candidates have mild to moderate fat under the chin and aren’t allergic to any ingredient in the formula.

Will I need more than one treatment session?

Results from Kybella injections are noticeable in as little as two to four treatments. However, up to six treatments may be necessary to achieve your goals.

How long do results last?

Kybella can last for years, and touch-ups should not be necessary. However, if you experience a significant amount of body weight gain, fullness under the chin may return.

What should I expect during recovery?

There is no downtime associated with Kybella. Patients will experience minor swelling and bruising after treatment, which should resolve within three days. Learn more about the recovery process in Dr. Hall’s Ultimate Guide to Kybella blog!
