A woman in her late 50s with bilateral macromastia who has not had relief with support bras or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications. She is a 42DD and has problems with back pain, grooving, and irritation of her shoulders from the bra straps, rash under the breasts in the warmer months, and problems with her posture. She is over her ideal body weight at 5’ 3 ¾” and 198 lbs, but has not been able to lose further weight because of difficulty exercising. She also has fat deposits of the upper armpit area ( “axillary lipodystrophy”) She is shown before and again, 3 ½ months after bilateral breast reduction with the removal of 849 grams of breast tissue from the right breast and 768 grams of tissue from the left breast. She also had liposuction of the lateral breast and axilla with the removal of 1000 ml of fat from the right breast and 1100 ml of fat from her left breast. This treated the macromastia, the axillary lipodystrophy, and the “side boob” and brought her down to a C cup. She is thrilled with her new shape and size, and her symptoms have all resolved.
