An early ( 6 week) fu on a mother of 2 in her late 30’s who describes herself as a 38 F cup ad who was bothered by back pain, shoulder pain, difficulty exercising due to the size of her breasts, and a rash under the breasts in the warmer months. She is shown before and again, just 6 weeks after a bilateral breast reduction with a short scar inferior pedicle technique with the removal of 667 gms of tissue from her right breast and 603 gms of tissue from her left breast to bring her down to a C cup. Her symptoms have resolved. Scars typically are at their thickest and reddest at 6 weeks and then begin to fade and improve over the next 2 years. Her scars look unusually good at the 6 week mark because she has been meticulous in avoiding over-activity during the healing period.
