Allergan, the company that makes Botox and Juvederm has over the last 3 years periodically put on Masterclasses. These are small, “hands on” classes with an expert who shares his approach to non-surgical facial rejuvenation.

This class was recently put on in Boston at the Seaport hotel, and Dr. Hall was invited to attend. He was one of two physicians who were chosen to inject patients during the demonstration period.  The class focused on treating patients with the following:

• moderate to severe age-related volume loss in the mid-face with general flattening of the cheek regions using Juvederm Voluma XC,
• moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds, oral commissures, marionette lines, and vertical lip lines using Juvederm Ultra XC
• thin lips with the desire to add fullness with Juvederm Ultra XC

Dr Hall also had an opportunity to use and demonstrate with Juvederm Volbella, a new product that has just been released by Allergan for adding subtle fullness to the lips!

The format included didactic lectures on facial aging, anatomy and patient assessment by Dr. Vince Bertucci, a physician from Toronto, Canada who was featured in the recent training video
for Volbella.  As a physician in Canada, he has had access to products for several years before they have been released in the US.

Later in the day demonstration injections were performed on patient models.  Dr Hall was one of two physicians who were selected to be an injector, and demonstrate the use of Voluma XC, Juvederm Ultra XC and the newly released product, Volbella. The patient models were excited to have their facial aging corrected, with Allergan graciously providing the products.
